A CT scan covering the entire body takes less than a half a minute.
The special algorithm built into the device continuously changes the intensity of the X-ray source during the examination, so that images of the required quality may be achieved with the lowest possible exposure.
Following this the PET camera scans the region to be examined. The size of the patented LSO detector crystals (4x4x20 mm) combined with the Pico-3D electronics and the unique TrueX image reconstruction endows this PET device with the best spatial resolution (~2 mm) available today and significantly lower noise than solutions available up to now. As a result of this, alongside utilizing 30% less of the active agent than the generally employed amount of isotope, the examinations may be made quicker and with a greater diagnostic confidence.
The full body PET scan only takes 15-20 minutes for patients with an average body size, and pathological accumulations of even few milimetres in size can be diagnosed.
